If you’ve had the chance to meet us at our coffee cart, are following along on our socials, or watching our space come together, you know we love a good conversation almost as much as we love a good cup of coffee. This blog is an extension of that idea. A place to slow down a bit, talk coffee, share what we’re working on, and connect with our neighbours here in Kamloops.
Right now, our coffee shop at 260 3 Ave is still under construction. We’re working hard and hoping to open our doors this Spring, and while our space is taking shape, we wanted to create somewhere we could start telling our story and share some good coffee content.
Who We Are
We believe coffee is more than a beverage — it's a chance to slow down, share a moment, and build something meaningful together.
Hey Neighbour was born out of a longtime love for community and a deep passion for specialty coffee. It's been a decade in the making. From experiencing coffee culture across Canada and overseas, we've come to understand what coffee really means to us — and we're excited to share that with you.
At our core, we’re a local coffee roaster with a deep respect for the craft. We’re the kind of people who get excited about origin stories, brewing variables, and the way a coffee changes as it cools. We’re also the kind of people who believe coffee should never feel intimidating.
Whether you’re a regular who knows your go-to order by heart, someone just starting to explore specialty coffee, or a full-on coffee nerd who wants to talk extraction and processing methods, you’re welcome here.
The “neighbour” part of our name really matters to us. We want our space and our brand to feel welcoming, fun, and comfortable, just like a good neighbour.

This blog will be a mix of education, storytelling, and behind-the-scenes looks at what we do as we get closer to opening and beyond. Over time, you can expect posts about:

Some posts will go a little deeper for the coffee curious. Others will be easy, everyday reads you can enjoy with your morning cup.
Why a Blog?
Coffee is full of stories. From the farms where it’s grown, to the way it’s roasted, brewed, and shared, there’s always more to learn. This blog gives us a place to tell those stories, answer questions we hear all the time, and keep the conversation going while our physical space comes together.
It’s also a way for us to stay connected with our community as we count down to opening day. Kamloops has been incredibly supportive, and we want this space to reflect that sense of local connection and shared curiosity.
